Katherine Barrett, LCSW

Katherine’s life is a testament to the power of inner transformation and the art of manifesting a purposeful and fulfilling journey. Growing up in New York, she discovered meditation and yoga philosophy in the 1980s, planting the seeds of a profound awakening. In 1990, a life-changing year in India opened her heart to the boundless wisdom of Eastern traditions. This led to seven more years at an ashram in upstate New York, where she deepened her practice of meditation, hatha yoga, and yoga philosophy.

 

Guided by a vision of sharing this wisdom with others, Katherine opened her first yoga studio in New York in 2001, followed by a second in Montclair, NJ, in 2002. Her offerings expanded to include yoga and philosophy retreats in the serene Finger Lakes beginning in 2005. By 2003, she had become a certified yoga teacher, trainer & yoga therapist, empowering countless students to uncover their potential.

 

Katherine’s thirst for deeper understanding inspired over a decade of study in Buddhist and Hindu philosophy with Professor Douglas Brooks at the University of Rochester. Since 2007, she has led transformative journeys through South India, guiding students to unlock the deeper meaning behind the rituals and practices of Eastern spirituality.

 

In 2015, Katherine embraced her calling as a clinical social worker, weaving her decades of experience in meditation and 12-step programs into her approach. She began her career at inpatient treatment facilities specializing in addiction, mental health, and family dynamics before creating her thriving private psychotherapy practice.

 

Today, Katherine inspires individuals online and in person through her trips to India, meditation classes, and workshops. Her passion is to help people realize that mental, emotional, and physical well-being is an energetic state within their control. Through her work, she empowers others to tap into their natural energy, embrace their inner power, and manifest lives of joy, balance, and boundless possibility.

 

Using a triad to address Mind, Body and Emotions, Cognitive Behavioral principles, Motivational Interviewing, and Emotional Freedom Technique in a holistic approach with all her clients so they can experience and manifest the life of peace and fulfillment they are seeking.

By focusing on what is already working, she helps you align with your natural ability to overcome challenges and create the peace and fulfillment you desire.
